GW can never get boring, this is blasphemy.

You are just playing wrong! SCNR.

That Lineage 2 gets extremely boring after a few years made me chuckle, I think it is already after a few weeks...^^

HINT: There are other games out there, and some are good! Some might really be fun when GW gets stale.

I still have not reached that state. I already often tried to start WoW and usually quit over and over again after a month. But this is another topic...

gave this some thoughts before answering,

and the answer is, no it does not get boring, because I play Guild Wars when I get bored and it usually makes me not bored anymore. it actually helps me get rid of boredom.

May Daimonds find their way to you all.

All games get boring. Some are good enough that you come back to them after awhile and find them fresh and fun again. In my experience, Guild Wars is one of those. I usually play for several months, quit for several months, then come back. I've been doing that for two years now, and this current cycle shows no sign of stopping soon (I can't very well stop playing right before Wintersday, now can I? ).

Well ofcourse it gets boring, what game doesn't.

BUT having played lineage , WOW and many others out there GW has a "something" which makes you come back. Sure PvP, GvG etc offers to soem the best experiences and to other the thought alone puts them to sleep...but that is personal.

As for new content ? hmmm don't know gw2 comes in 2009/2010 you really think nothing new is comming in the next 2 years ?

If you are NOT a porwer player you can have months of PvE "fun" if you are a power player you will finish all 4 campaigns in under a week and played all proffessions in under 2 months.

Short answer , just play the damn game you will get your money's worth either way

I am, currently, quite bored with GW. However, this has happened after OVER 1000 hours of playtime! And, after taking a break, I'll likely return for more.

Nothing can remain fun forever. But as far as getting a lot of fun out of it, GW is a genuinely fantastic deal.

At the moment a little bored with Guild Wars. I'm getting close to finishing one of my last main goals, after that there won't be much left to do on my main account...=(

every game gets boring. i think its hard in this game as theres so many things i could decide to do. when i first got the game 2 years ago i played alot but then stopped for 5 months. came back and loved it again.
If your bored, find something else to do.
the game isn't a thing to just play until gw2, i dont understand why people think it is. Why would u stop playing because of a new version of the game is coming out?

Agreed. If they hadnt' announced a GW2 then people would not be thinking this way. Anet have shown us how they operate in the past, and I'm sure they will not simply let the GW community and loyal fans wither away over the coming years.

I play on average 7-8 hours per day, every day, for over 2 years. I got bored with the game after factions came out but still logged in and offered help to guildies with anything just for the social aspect. GW will get boring when having good company gets boring.

That's the bottom line. A game is supposed to entertain you. If it fails to do that, you're wasting your time.

I must say, in some way yes, but only because the gameplay is heavily stagnating around HM and Anet does nothing versus it.

What I mean with this ?

Simple, it just takes too long time find find people do to anything with them in Hard Mode... when the game stagnates so like GW does, only because you have to search when you have bad luck for weeks, until you find a group for exactly that stuff, you want to do.

Try only fo find PUG ingame for vanguishing -....just hopeless senseless, you won#t find anyone ingame .... and with H/H it can be either extreme hard, to impossible to make anything in HM with H/h, unless your willing to waste some couple of powerstones and other consumeable, to go sure, that your group will never reach the -60%DP Party Wipe Kick and to make the otherwise heavily imbalanced lvl 30 monsters in HM look again possible to beat, without several deaths while fighting...

I tried yesterday to H/H the Raven Dungeon, where all these imba lvl 30 Destroyers are, and my whole team of very well prepared Heroes for this Dungeon and the henchs got wiped within several seconds, and cause of ressurections and staying some seconds long enough alive after that, the group malus was naturally direct at like -30%+
(DP system was, is and will be ever imba in GW1 >.> GW's DP system simple SUCKS)

Because of thes big stagnation in HM, when you try to make it with PUG's or H/H just massively slows you down and when your standart game, when you start it just looks like, as if you just play again for wasting time in trying to find people for something in HM over days..over weeks, even over months and you come and come simple not further in the game cause of that...then the game becomes very quick boring, because its just simple too hard, to be played solo... you can't just rely on the fact, that when you just find nobody to play with you, that you use then your time simple, to play with your character, to train your character, so that your character becomes over time powerful enough to solo simple the stuff you want to do, character developement, just like in classical real MMORPG's doesn't exist in GW and thats imo a big disadvantage of GW, because the player has to rely for every **** on other players either or has to hope, that H/H will be good enough for the stufff, that you want to do (but what the are in general mostly not, but thatsa also heavily the matter of what profession you play with your own class, the choice of your character class heavily influences the possibilities, if something becomes in the game heavily imbalanced with H/H, or if it ends up in being some easy joke, where you rush through your enemies without a problem)

Not to mention the stagnation of GW, cause of PUG's, which play missions ect. only with certain group builds... everyone knows that finding PUG's as Assasin, Mesmer or Dervish/Paragon isnt really easy...

Because the basics are ever best and the basic group mostly consists in the meta game now of a group build like this:

1 Obsi Tank
1 Splitter Barrage Ranger/Ritu
2 Monks Heal/Prot
1 SS Necro/ MM
2-3 Eles, when only 2, then also ..
maybe another Splitter ranger/ritu, or a 3rd Monk...

the last one is ever the ??? and the only slot, where with real luck maybe paragons/Dervishs or mesmer find a place in, but the Sin ? when only as another A/R maybe with Barrage build ... >.>

The gameplay stagnates, because the Community enforces people to play special builds, only to have a chance to find parties, which take them with them and that is one part of GW, that has ever sucked, since GW exists, what is surely also the fault of the dumb 2 Class System

Would the game in much thigns not stagnate so heavily for the casual gamers, which don't are in big super active cluster ally guilds, then the game would surely make again alot more fun, when you as player have not to worry about, if you have to search again for hours for PUGs and just don#t find nobody, as x days before too....and you just leave the game after x hours, knowing, that you just wasted your time again for nothing...

Of course it gets boring. Why we all hang around here in the forums in the first place? Shouldn't we be playing the game?

Yeah I get bored all the time. I'll stop playing for a week to a month, then go hard again. Something always happens to remind me of GW and then I get desperate to play!

People get entertained in different ways by games. But everyone gets bored eventually. The thrill-seeking people might get bored once they've done all the content and there's nothing new to see. The goal-driven people might hit boredom after they achieve that huge title. The only way to remain interested in the game long-term is through social relationships. Helping a friend through a mission while talking on voice chat, for example.

After 27 months, I still don't find GW boring. There's always something to do.

Granted, there are "things" that get boring. The 10 days my W spent farming the elementals outside Dzagonur to get to rank 6 of LB - now, that was boring. Seeing a looooong cut scene for the 100th time when you're helping a PUG.

"Why we all hang around here in the forums in the first place? Shouldn't we be playing the game?"

This is part of the game.

well i guess after i complete the whole guild wars universe i'll probably be playing warcraft or eq until gw2 is out.

but i am positive Anet is gonna leave us with the same old game with no new contents and stale community until gw2 that is why they can never be a successful developer.

Any game will get boring after a long enough time. However, if you've been playing the game for a long time, consider value of the entertainment you received for such a small amount of money.
